History

Euroasia started as the European Language Academy (ELA), founded in Auckland in 2000. This was a boutique European language school, geared to the teaching of the most popular European languages. Kenneth Leong, Director, took over the reins in late-2003. ELA was then joined by the Asian Language Academy(ALA), founded in 2006 as a complementary Asian language school.

ELA was not just a language school: but also offered a range of services to businesses and to schools; ELA operated a Cross Cultural consultancy that specialised in helping companies and individuals deal with the multi-cultural environment in which many of them operated.

As the company expanded, Euroasia decided to create an umbrella name to cover all the services provided. The name chosen was Euroasia - to reflect "the world we wish to open up to New Zealanders".
