Erythema multiforme major (also known as "Erythema multiforme minor – erythema multiforme von Hebra") is a term that may be used to refer to two conditions that constitute a spectrum of the same disease process:

The term "Erythema multiforme major" is sometimes used to imply a bullous presentation.

According to some sources, SJS and TEN are considered a single condition, distinguished by degree of epidermal detachment.

Woodrow Allen Boyer, author, broadcaster, entrepreneur and lecture circuit personality. He survived toxic epidermal necrolysis and a skin loss of over 75% of his body with multi-system organ failure as a result. W. A. Boyer has the only book on SJS and TEN known to be used by physicians and patients alike.
