The Errázuriz family of Chile
became politically influential since the beginning of the 19th century, and played a very significant role in Chilean politics. Francisco Errazuriz, an immigrant of Basque
origin, was the first member of this family to arrive in Chile in 1735. Since their arrival in Chile, members of the Errazuriz family have played significant roles in most important cultural, social and political events.
