and secured promotion to the Premier Division via the play-offs.
Foley was released by Sporting Fingal at the end of the 2009 season but the midfielder would sign with Shelbourne
for the Reds' 2010 First Division
campaign. He made his Shelbourne debut on 28 February 2010 in a Leinster Senior Cup tie against Tolka Rovers
and he scored his first Shelbourne goal a week later on 5 March 2010 in Shels' first league game of the season, a 1-1 draw against Monaghan United at Tolka Park
. Foley made an encouraging start to the 2010 season scoring 5 goals in his first 9 league games before a succession of injuries saw him lose his place in Shelbourne's first team. Foley departed Shelbourne at the end of the season, he made 21 appearances and scored 6 goals in all competitions for Shelbourne.
On 27 January 2011 Foley signed for Monaghan United.
