, Elyse Luray attended Newcomb College

and subsequently became one of PBS' History Detectives, solving mysteries surrounding the origins and backgrounds of pieces of history submitted by individuals who, in one way or another, discovered or came into possession of photographs, documents or other objects of an unknown or uncertain provenance

as well as co-hosting 2009 Endless Yard Sale. She also hosted Treasure Seekers, a cable/satellite program which follows her travels to antiques shows around the country in order to display and evaluate objects of historical significance and/or interest. Elyse is the author of the book " Great Wines Under $20".
She is a certified appraiser and is a New York State licensed auctioneer. She can be seen at the podium selling for many different auction houses. She spends a lot of her spare time lending her auctioneering skills to charities through out the country to help raise money for many different causes. Elyse appears regularly on the Nate Berkus Show as his appraiser. She is also an appraiser on the Style Networks " Clean House New York"
