Geography of the area
The town has Eldwick Beck running through it flows through the pedestrian-only thoroughfare of Spa Lane. The name has come to refer to the part of the village just before entry into High Eldwick, near the Methodist Church and The Acorn Pub. Much of the village is situated upon a steep hill, with the steepest part accessible to vehicles is 17%, indicated by a sign near the top and bottom. The Prince of Wales Park runs past this part of the hill. The road follows a sharp curve around the area, making the road dangerous to navigate in the wet.Transport
