The game contains 50 stages (or maps) and progresses in a linear fashion (unlike previous titles, such as Eggerland 2 and Eggerland – Revival of the Labyrinth). In addition to the actual game, Eggerland- Departure to Creation contains a "construction Mode" that allows players to create their own custom maps (hence the game's title)

The game has been viewed as too easy by Eggerland series fans in Japan
