. The municipality is part of the present-day municipality of Steinkjer
, including the areas north of the town of Steinkjer, south of the lake Snåsavatnet
, west of the lake Fossemvatnet

. The main church for the municipality was Egge Church

were merged together with the town of Steinkjer
to form a new, larger municipality of Steinkjer. Before the merger, Egge had a population of 3,476.
