Ho has been an independent non-executive director and member of the Board of MTR Corporation Ltd. since 1991. He was a founding member of the Liberal Party of Hong Kong, and has been one of the longest serving Hong Kong Legislative Council members.

He was appointed to the General Committee of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Society Limited, whose Chief Executive re-appointed Ho as Chairman of the General Committee of the HKPS from November 1, 2005 to October 31, 2006. He is Chairman of Antiquities Advisory Board.
