: As the only two Catholic high schools in the area, the football rivalry between E.D. White and Vandebilt has a rich history. Over the years, the game has featured last-second finishes, memorable plays, great players, packed and spirited crowds and plenty of good old-fashioned ribbing between fans of both schools.
Thibodaux High School
: These two teams share the same town and the football rivalry is known as "The Battle for Thibodaux". The first meeting was in 2007 with the Cardinals winning 30-14. In 2008 the Tigers took bragging rights with a 13-3 victory over the Cardinals. With Thibodaux High being a 5A public school and E.D White being a 3A private Catholic school, years could go by without these schools playing against each other. Having played each other twice, the teams are tied 1-1.
E.D. White has facilities for academic, athletic, and extra-curicular activities. The E.D. White campus is composed of the main building, the Pere Menard building (which houses the EDW Media Center and the Academic Enhancement Center), the main gymnasium, the Cardinal baseball field, the Cardinal softball field, the football field, the band room, the Student Union, and the Dr. Richard Morvant gymnasium.
Improvements, renovations, and new projects are being built as EDW has started a campaign, which will update the school into the 21st century. All English classrooms have had Smartboards installed. The science laboratories are up to date with new technologies as well.
