He was born on the 4th of September 1891 the 3rd son of George Arthur Cobb Esq of Lively Island, Falkland Islands; married Gladys Ryder d. of H.J. King Esq of Poles,Ware, Hertfordshire Educated at St Pauls School and at Royal Military College,Sandhurst 2nd Lieutenant Northhampshire 1911, Served in Cameroons E.F. and B.E.F 1914 -1916. DSO 1916, retired 1924. Member of London County Council 1925-34: Chairman of Education Committee 1932-34. J.P. for Sussex. A National Unionist. In 1945 he unsuccessfully contested the Eton and Slough division of Buckinghamshire: again defeated in Eton and Slough in February 1950. Parliamentary Private Secretary to H. Balfour 1938-39, then to Rt Hon O. Stanley 1939-40 and to Rt Hon. L.S. Amery 1940-41. Died 14 May 1957
