The Education and Research Institute (ERI) is a US tax-exempt nonprofit organization devoted to advancing greater awareness and understanding of America's traditional values. It was founded in 1974. In 1988 ERI founded a subsidiary group, the Center for Security Research to form a centralized collection point for Cold War
historical records. ERI also publishes the ERI Report.
ERI is the only organization currently devoted to putting the entire contents of declassified
Cold War intelligence documents up on the Internet. Other groups such as the FBI often make available extracts of files that are considered of particular interest. ERI is thus an important research and public education tool.
