He was the younger brother of actress Rita Hayworth
and the older brother of actor Vernon Cansino (1922-1974). The Cansino family lived in a theatrical boarding house in Broadway
where Eduardo Cansino, Sr. was appearing nightly with his sister Elisa as The Dancing Cansinos.
By 1929, however the family were having trouble finding a steady job on vaudeville so they moved out west to Hollywood. Eduardo Cansino, Jr. appeared in a fair number of films during the 1950s, but generally with small parts.
