Edgar von Gierke

Edgar Otto Conrad von Gierke (9 February 1877, Breslau - 21 October 1945) was a German doctor, who specialised in glycogen synthesis. This research led him to the discovery of glycogen synthesis type I.

He married Julie Brown in 1912 and fathered 4 children.
