Eastern Obolo is a Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. There are two clans in Eastern Obolo namely the Iko clan and the Okoroete clan.

They are unique people with quite distinct culture, custom and tradition. Andoni is the tribe where they hails from and Ijaw ethnic group.
It is one of the original 21 (Twenty one) towns of the Andoni that has never suffered defeat from the hands of its neighbours.
Typical fishermen and partial farmers. Though modernity tend to depraved them on the pages of papers their God richly endowed mineral resources - crude Oil, as the all Oil wells are located within this area but given foreign names to reflects the suppressive and denial they are currently suffering from the majority tribe - Ibibios and Annangs who are located in the hinterland.
