East Bridgewater High School
Encyclopedia
East Bridgewater High School is a public secondary school
located at 11 Plymouth Street in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts
. The school serves students in grades 9-12 and has an approximate enrollment of 675 students. The schools colors are Navy, Gold & White and the
school mascot is the Vikings.
Currently, there is a proposition to have a new high school built in East Bridgewater due to the dreary condition of the present high school. Ongoing high school issues that have brought the town to this point include: NEASC accreditation that places EBHS on “warning” status, major building system failures, and a facility that is in poor condition overall. In addition, overcrowding issues at both Central Middle School and Mitchell Middle Schools needed to be addressed.
Once it was determined that a new school could provide the answers to multiple issues, the HSBC embarked on a plan to seek a long-term solution. Currently, the HSBC is proposing a new grade 7-12 high school in East Bridgewater. Below, you can view the YouTube
video of the proposed new high school's layout and appearance.

History
The school's current campus opened in 1958. In 1975, a major building addition program added extensively to academic support and athletic facilities while doubling the enrollment capacity of the school. Currently, the school enrolls 674 students in grades 9-12, reflecting moderate growth over recent years. East Bridgewater High School is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and was last evaluated in 2006.Current
Unfortunately, the school is currently on probation due to the building being in some disrepair. This has not hindered its use as a school, nor as a center for voting, yet until the probation is lifted, the town of East Bridgewater may not be able to keep it properly funded without the help of the state.Currently, there is a proposition to have a new high school built in East Bridgewater due to the dreary condition of the present high school.
