History

Earley station was opened in 1863 by the South Eastern Railway

 in 1852. The main approach road to the station is bordered by three terraced, single storey cottages dating back to the origination of the station buildings themselves in May 1863. The cottages were built to house the station workers and their families.

Earley station is within 20 minutes' walk of the University of Reading (Whiteknights entrance) along the A329 Wokingham Road.
