Academics

Every seventh grader takes social studies, reading, language arts, life science, and math. All subjects have an advanced program, and math additionally has an accelerated program. In accelerated math, students take eighth grade math, having already mastered the seventh grade standards.

Eighth graders can take Literature/Composition and Spanish instead of reading and language arts. Teachers must recommend students to take these classes, and the student must have stellar grades. In the eighth grade year, a student taking accelerated math (9th grade honors math) also takes accelerated physical science.
