eSpindle Learning is an online vocabulary and spelling coaching program. It was founded in 2004, and incorporated as a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Membership fees range from $79.80 a year to $599 for a lifetime membership and the organization had 5000 members in 2007.

Features

The program is based on a database of 160,000 English words, with audio, definitions, images, and usage examples. The program uses quizzes that are set for each member's learning profile, providing personalized spaced repetition review.
In August of 2010, the core program was renamed as www.LearnThat.org, and the English vocabulary component is now accessible at the LearnThatWord domain.
In the 2010/11 school year, eSpindle Learning made free tutoring available to third graders in the U.S. and Canada, including 24/7 customer service and unlimited professional development support for teachers.

Awards

The program was awarded a Parents Choice Foundation Award in 2006 as well as a Teachers' Choice Award (by Learning Magazine) in 2008.
The organization was further featured as an "innovator company" by the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA).
