After graduating from High School in 2008 the band started writing and recording their second studio album Enter Metropolis with the Danish producer Jacob Hansen (Volbeat). Normally producing heavy metal, Hansen helped push the harder guitar driven electro sound of the record. Enter Metropolis was released in Europe in August 2009 to mixed reviews.
The album peaked at #4 on the Danish album chart and #44 on the German album chart. Enter Metropolis is certified Gold på IFPI Denmark.
The band went touring in support of the album and played just shy of 100 concerts in Europe. With the last gig of the "Enter Metropolis Tour", the sole female member of the group, Cecilie Dyrberg, announced her departure from the band and cited that:
My time with Dúné has been amazing. It has been the greatest 10 years of my life. But I have spent half of my life "in the world of Dúné" and it is time to try out something new. From here there are so many ways to go and so many challenges I both musically and personally want to throw myself into. Of course it is a decision full of melancholy, but even more of an excitement and eager for the unknown new adventures that wait ahead. The wonderful times we have had together in Dúné have given my life an infinite value but, for me, the dream that used to carry the work is already outlived. Words can not describe my gratitude to all the amazing people and fans that have been a part of making the Dúné-dream come true. Who knows, we might see each other again!?

The remaining members continues as a sextet and went on two short tours in Denmark and Germany in December 2010 and January 2011 until may 2011 when drummer Malte Aarup-Sórensen also split with the band.

Now an all-male quintet, Dúné is getting ready to lock themselves up in a Berlin studio to focus completely on their next album due for an early 2012 release, while also gearing up for their busiest touring summer ever with a massive string of dates in continental Europe.
