Durant members include siblings Melissa Lancaster, Kim Lancaster-Brantley and Anthony Lancaster, along with Rachel Tuggle Whorton, Darren Whorton, and Mandy Wilson. Several of the members performed together in the group X-Changed at Lipscomb University
before forming Durant. The name “Durant” comes from the Lancasters' grandfather and is in honor of his influence in their lives.
Their album, "Ride" received a nomination for Best Religious album from the Contemporary A Cappella Society
(CASA).
The group was named Group of the Year in 2008 by the Member's Choice Acappella Awards.
