History

The club was established in 1879.
The club played in an early version Bellarine Football League that ran from 1895 to 1914. Reformed after the great war the club continued to play locally until 1924 when it joined the Geelong Football Association.
The Drysdale Football Club continued to play in Geelong district competitions until the Bellarine District Football League was formed in 1971. Drysdale won back to back premierships in the GDFL prior to joining the new league.
Since joining the Bellarine District Football League the club has a winning rate of 60.1 %

An Under 12 Year old player from Drysdale Football Club notably called an Portarlington Football Club player of dark complexion a 'Nigger' which has caused a big uproar. The incident went to the Football Geelong Tribunal and had
no result in a solution. The victim's parents went to various media outlets and
the DFC Team has issued a statement on their website.
