Early years (1985 - 1989)

Since its inception, Rodrigo Cuadra joined in the music of his band an almost perfect complement composition and sound, with stories and legends of mythological origin, dreams of cosmic horror, lots of blood, the bizarre and the absurd, the end in every sense, gore film, teachers of science fiction H. P. Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe and the musical antithesis of death metal band Cannibal Corpse and the progressive rock group Genesis, two of his artistic inspirations. One of the curiosities is that Back when he was in the jump from Progressive Rock to Heavy Metal were experiencing between these 2 genera, unconsciously advanced to a genre that years later would be known. The Progressive Metal, this experiment can be noticed instantly the song Zeus.

Back ran 1984 and made their first appearances in the gym Manuel Square Nunoa in Santiago. Whether as a guest or organizer of the event, the band always provided with new elements to the show. Pera wearing masks on stage Cuadra and some other cover sets the tone of the early repertoire. To dust off the memory lane was not unusual, for example, interpret Back "Come to the Sabbath", the classic Mercyful Fate 1984, as a way of paying tribute to another musical reference.

Other founders of cosmic monster metalhead, when it was a prank Back teenager, are the brothers Maurice and Marcelo Castillo (guitar and drums), Gonzalo Lara (drums) and Bernardo Riquelme (percussion). The songs "Expelled belly," "Places of the unknown" and "Fantasy Forest" represented the first attempt musical group recorded their first demo, Sites of the unknown. Two years later, the album War of creatures (1987) was recorded and distributed as semi between supporters of the trio, consisting of Rodrigo Cuadra (bass and vocals), Jamal Eltit (guitar) and Jaime Palma (drums).

Golden Age (1991 - present)

But nothing. Back arrive at two new members, Marcelo Naves, former drummer for Nimrod, and guitarist Alvaro Soms. The result would be more heavy-metal album by the trio made to date. The fear stems from the grave (1993) is quite an event, insisting on elements of jazz and progressive rock, but adds the movie gore or black humor and macabre as new themes.

The album Big Monster Aventura (1995) represents a certain continuity of his predecessor. The clip's title track was a leading chain rotation in the MTV video music and songs like "Great Change," "Transformed in crocodile" and "Thank you, oh! Beings seaweed" became classics of the group.

With the new line already established, Back began his next venture musical, Disco Blood (1998), this time with more cosmic horror, influential science fiction film and horror of the decades of the '50s to the '70s. In 2002 and 2005 the group released the live albums "Lari's Live" and "Cosmic Unplugged", respectively, after a creative break that also included the return of Yamal Eltit on guitar, the group resumed its discography with a new album " Espacium "(2008). They are currently campaigning to end the production of a new work entitled "Recollections of the Chilean countryside macabre" whose pre-release was the September 30, 2011. In this new album, Back combines all the mystical spirit of national folklore and country sound with the great power of doom, black and death metal, and also portray the sinister legends abound around the field throughout Chile, including the most famous through several books that portray and others which originated inspired by dark events that each member has experienced in the past as a backup this is reflected faithfully in the first cut removed, "Vacalaca" which tells the story of a cow raw zombie attacks during the night to roast huasos southern field.

Back has never been planned as an international band, in the words of its creator. What the band has achieved in his country, being an obligatory reference in any collection or chronological account of the metal, the genre hardly another group has succeeded. That is the merit of dementia and restless creative leader and creator of Rodrigo Cuadra.

Back is attributed to a metal opera in War Demo Creature that relates the myths of ancient Greek civilization, apart from being one of the operas priimeras Metal, is a kind of opera-Demo as they are only 4 songs, and the Zeus longest is 8:45 minutes.
