Dorcus titanus, also known as the giant stag beetle, is a beetle
of the Family Lucanidae.
This beetle (a bark beetle) has some commercial value and export from Palawan Islands, Republic of Philippines, is illegal. There are some Asian cultures that assign aphrodisiac properties to this insect, high in protein. However, most of the beetles are used for sport (beetle wrestling), decorative show, or curious pets.
