Band

The band program at Dominion, run by Mr. Hartmetz, is very successful and constantly growing. When the school opened in 2003, the marching band consisted of twenty-three (23) people and was the smallest in its class everywhere it went. Five years later, in the 2008-09 school year, the program had exploded to 103 students, throwing them right into the middle of a larger, more competitive class. In the 2009-10 school year, they received a first-place score of Superior at VBODA's state marching festival.

The concert band has grown from one class to two over the years, Ensembles 1 and 2. Both attend VBODA's District Festival every year. In 2009-2010, for the first time in school history, both ensembles received a score of superior. Due to the achievements of the marching band in the fall, it allowed Ensemble 1 to receive the distinction of Honor Band for the first time since 2006-07.

The jazz band is a smaller program that does not compete, but performs much more often for school assemblies, with the Latin Dance team, and with the local elementary schools' (Meadowland Elementary and Sugarland Elementary) Latin percussion students, also taught by Mr. Hartmetz.
