Eventually Dom was fired.

Dom is madly in love with Belle and tries to sabotage every relationship she has by trying to convince her that he loves her. However, she has never returned these feelings.

Drew was by now being blamed for stealing the car parts Dom stole. Dom had an agreement with Belle that if she kissed him, he would turn himself in causing Drew to get off the hook.

Dom then later returned in episode 4539. He kidnapped Belle and held her hostage. His uncle Ray told Drew where he might be. Drew found her. He did not know it, but Belle and Dom had another agreement involving another kiss and letting Belle go. Drew walked just as they stopped. Belle and Drew ran into the car and began to drive. Drew hit Dom with his car. But when they got out they could not find him. He appeared a few episodes later in Belle's bedroom when she was lying on bed sleeping next to Drew.

In the season finale for 2007, Dom returned and was rushed to hospital by a shaken Belle in a after being hit by Drew's car. Later he lied about the car incident in order to protect Belle. Drew later attacks Dom in hospital which puts him into a critical condition where he is rushed to emergency surgery. Drew is shocked when Belle calls out that she loves him, but she reveals that she only said it to get him through the surgery. Dom woke up in the first week of Home and Away and proclaimed that he would win Belle's heart. Afterwards he started rehabilitation. Shortly after he got a waiter's job at the diner with the intention of starting his life again. However, after being set up with a job in the city Dom deliberately messed up the interview so he could stay close to Belle but Irene's daughter was the interviewer and told them that he intentionally messed up. After he was exposed, Belle wanted nothing to do with him and he left the bay for the city, saying he would return.
