. The airport was built between May–December 1967. It was originally named Governor Dodge Quinn Airport and depicted with an unpaved runway. It was a public airport. Within the next three years it was renamed to Dodgeville airport, and in the Milwaukee Sectional charts, it was depicted with the courtesy of a 2800 paved runway. One of the most amazing landmarks of the Dodgeville Municipal airport is its only current resident Boeing C-97G. When the plane landed it barely fit on the small runway, creating a massive cloud of dust. The plane still sits in front of the Don Q inn, which is directs next to the airport. Unfortunately the Dodgeville airport closed in 1990, but was later reopened as a small private airport. It currently occupied by a construction company, and the runway is used for equipment storage. It is still listed as a private airfield.
