Joel has many opportunities to use his knowledge of the future to his own personal advantage. For example, he attempts to invest in Intel stock, borrows from a speech in Dead Poets Society
when running for Student Body, and palms off 1990s' pop music hits as his own.

Synopsis
Joel Larsen is a single, depressed 34-year-old paper salesman with a sad life. His sister Cheryl who once had a promising future is now a drug-addict. His childhood friend Pat who once held idealistic principles is now a sleazy attorney. His mother Karen ran off and his father Bill is an unhealthy, bitter, divorced man.
