Dixie Marshall

She held the position from 2002 until 2011 despite low ratings, although she has been with the Nine Network
since 1984, and previously worked for The Australian
Newspaper and Radio 6PR

Dixie was one of the first female sports reporters in Australian television, and while working at Seven News
in Melbourne, won awards for covering AFL football, the 1988 Seoul Olympics, international golf, tennis and basketball. She has also co-hosted Sportsworld
with Bruce McAvaney
.
She returned to Perth
in 1993 and joined Nine News as a senior reporter, then later became weekend presenter.
In 2003, Dixie and Sonia Vinci
became Australia's first duo team of female news presenters, initially on a temporary basis, but it was later made permanent. This partnership lasted for 5 years, before her partner Vinci was replaced by former Ten News
presenter Greg Pearce in 2008. She is also involved in Nine's Appealathon and other charity events at the station.
Marshall is a daughter of Western Australian politician and former sports commentator Arthur Marshall.

In May 2011, Marshall resigned from the Nine Network
saying she wanted to spend more time with her family.She took up a full time Public Service position with the State Government a week later.
