Early Life

At age 15 his family sent him to Windsor, Ontario

 to work with his uncle's business. During this time he worked construction during the day and learned English

Professional wrestling career

During the 1950s he met with a manager of an Italian club in Windsor who has seen him working out at a YMCA

 and brought him to a wrestling training session. From that training session he was hooked and wrestler Stan Neilson got him in touch with Burt Ruby, a co-owner of a promotion in Detroit with Harry Light and Jack Britton

, who was looking from an Italian wrestler at the time.

His first match was against Jack Pye

Bravo took over his uncle's construction business, but his retirement from wrestling didn't last long. He was working during the day and at night was wrestling and refereeing for Burt Ruby and Harry Light until about 1965 where he completely retired from the business.

In 1972, he gave permission to Jack Britton to give the Dino Bravo name to a upcoming wrestler by the name of Adolfo Bresciano.

Personal life

Bravo owned and managed Bravo Cement Contracting Inc. for many years after his retirement from wrestling.
