Members of the unicameral state legislature are called state assemblymen. The Legislative Assembly building is located in Wisma Darul Aman.

Role

The leader of the majority party or coalition in the Assembly is appointed Menteri Besar by the Sultan of Kedah. He then appoints members of the executive council, or State EXCO, from the Assembly.
