Det Centrale Personregister (Civil Registration System), short CPR is a Danish
nationwide centralised register of personal information.
Established in 1968, the register contains information concerning the name, address, Danish personal identification number
, date and place of birth, citizenship and other associated information. Virtually every government agency in Denmark

The register is housed by CPR-Kontoret
(literally "The CPR Office"), which is responsible for maintaining and developing the database and communicating data to government agencies, as well as to authorised private companies.
