Derius’s men’s football team have competed in the lower divisions of the Finnish football league

 since 1996. In the early seasons they made great progress gaining three promotions over 4 years – rising from the Kutonen (Sixth Division) in 1997, Vitonen (Fifth Division) in 1999 and Nelonen (Fourth Division) in 2000 – before reaching their summit in 2001 in the Kolmonen (Third Division) where they were quickly relegated at the end of the season.

Since that time Derius have been on a downward slide which has seen them drop down into the Kutonen (Sixth Division) where they began competitive life. In 2006 and 2007 they experienced a lack of players and were only able to field a joint team with neighbours Jokelan Kisa

Derius run 2 men’s team. The club do not currently run a junior football section but are very active in the sport of bandy.
