The carnival starts with a procession of floats (usually 5 or 6) leaving the Deighton Centre from approximately 1pm, playing Reggae Dancehall

The procession attracts viewers on the streets of Deighton until it returns to the Deighton Centre at around 4pm and the event continues in the field where stage performances, food stalls, fairground rides and a five-a-side football tournament happens.
