Townsville City, Queensland
Townsville City is the name of a suburb of the city of Townsville, Queensland, and essentially represents the Central Business District. Townsville CBD is in close proximity to The Strand and Castle Hill-Description:...

. It is at Deeragun, where the Bruce Highway becomes Dual-Carriageway for the rest of its length into Townsville. The population is 2,626 residents

Deeragun is mainly residential and rural-residential housing with a few service stations, a police station, churches and a shopping centre. Deeragun was a major area for Queensland housing commission homes, so compared to most areas of Townsville is was a lower socio-economic suburb. However the number of housing commission homes is declining, and with the development of one of North Queensland's largest housing estates nearby,(North Shore) Deeragun is considered one of the area's next 'booming' suburbs.A Stockland shopping centre will be going near the Wooodlands shopping centre in the next few years.

Deeragun is served by the Bohlevale State Primary School, St. Anthony's Catholic College and the Northern Beaches State High School.
