Career

Dean began his career with Fisher Athletic and moved to West Ham United in 1991 for £25,000. However he only made 2 league appearances for the Hammers and was loaned out to Colchester United.

After spells with Kettering and Brentford, Dean moved to Asia where he spent time at Hong Kong Rangers. When his contract ended, Martin returned to Europe and spent time training under John Still

. In December 1998, he moved to Bohemians along with Kevin Hunt on a one-month contract. He made his debut in a 0-0 draw against Cork City at Turners Cross

. and made 2 further league appearances for Bohs before his contract expired. As Bohemians only had enough money to sign either Martin or Hunt, Martin was released and he moved on to Hereford United. After a few months at Edgar Street, he signed for Stevenage Borough

In 2000, Dean moved to Iceland with IA Akranes and he has been in Iceland ever since.
