Daybreak is the seventh full-length studio album
by American indie rock
band Saves the Day
. It is also their first album since Can't Slow Down without long-time guitarist David Soloway, and their first with guitarist Arun Bali and bass guitarist Rodrigo Palma. The album also contains short-lived member Spencer Peterson on drums for the first and last time. On September 17, 2009, the band announced via their Twitter account that the album was almost finished. On September 25, 2009, the band announced the track listing. The album will be the third in a trilogy that began with Sound the Alarm in 2006 and continued with Under the Boards
in 2007.
The scheduled release date has been pushed back to no earlier than 2011, after several delays through 2009 and 2010, according to an announcement made by group member Arun Bali on their website.
In an interview on January 19, 2011, with Propertyofzack.com singer Chris Conley
said they were finalizing the deal with the label, and late spring of 2011 was a likely release date.
On March 7, 2011, it was announced that the band had signed with Razor & Tie
and would be releasing the album in the late spring. Razor & Tie have subsequently announced that the album is due out in the fall.
On May 31, 2011, it was finally announced that Daybreak will be released on September 13, 2011.
On June 1, 2011, the band released the first single "Living Without Love". It was available for free download after signing up for the band's mailing list.
Preorders became available on June 2, 2011. Upon pre-ordering, one could immediately download the songs "Living Without Love" and "Undress Me".
On September 8th they debuted the music video for Deranged & Desperate.
