History

Davidson Day School, formerly Acclaim Academy was originally located at 404 Armour Street in Davidson and rented space from the factory that owned the building. Davidson Day School stayed at this location about 1.5 miles from its current location from its establishment till 2007, when a new building at 750 Jetton Street was finished.

The school has experienced surprisingly rapid growth during the difficult economy. With 525 students enrolled in 2011-2012, they are near the 600 student capacity of the still new facilities. The school plans to occupy a second campus where they will move grades 7-12. Expect this campus to be large with plenty of room for growth in enrollment and for 1st class academic, athletic and extra-curricular activities.

Arts

Davidson Day school has a theater program that usually has a winter and spring performance.
