in 1999 but, partly because his batting was perceived as weak, found himself unable to displace David Nash from the first team wicket-keeper slot. When Ben Scott
then emerged as Nash's successor, Alleyne decided to switch clubs.
Alleyne signed for Nottinghamshire
in October 2003. Mainly used as cover for Chris Read
, most of Alleyne's time was spent playing in the Second XI as a lower-order batsman and wicket-keeper. One particular career highlight occurred "against Warwickshire in May 2006, he scored his maiden first-class fifty in the first innings and trumped that with his maiden hundred in the second."
Alleyne was released by Notts in August 2007 and he is now pursuing a club cricket career for Victorian Premier Cricket
