The Dassault AVE Grand Duc was an experimental stealth UAV planned for development in France in the early 21st century as the final step towards the development of a UCAV under Dassault Aviation
's LOGIDUC
programme. AVE stands for Aéoronef de Validation Expérimentale ("Experimental Assessment Aircraft"), and Grand Duc is the French name for the Eagle Owl, but also a wordplay on the LOGIDUC programme name, with grand meaning "large". The Grand Duc was cancelled in 2003 and replaced by the nEUROn
