The Jets won the game 37–0, their second shutout, and third 'defensive' shutout. The victory qualified the Jets for the postseason, and the two teams met up again six days later in the first round. During the Jets' 24–14 victory over the Bengals, Revis again shut down Ochocinco, limiting him to two catches for 28 yards and collecting an interception.

2010 season

Revis missed almost all of training camp and all four of the team's preseason contests while holding out for a new contract. He was to receive approximately $1 million in the fourth year of a six year contract. On September 5, an agreement was reached on a four year $32 million guaranteed contract, and Revis subsequently reported to camp the next day, a week before the team's season opener.
