Incidents

Rijaard became a controversial figure when he was accused by his former girlfriend of selling games when playing for Den Haag. Eventually he was not charged because of lack of evidence. In January 2008, Rijaard was arrested after the Helmond Sport game after a bust-up with a club steward.
