Dr Daniel Shumba sees the current power sharing government as non-inclusive and unrepresentative. "all stakeholders including the church, other political parties, and civic society must form or contribute ao this government". The MDC's alone are unable to get Zanu-PF to agree to true reforms that will lead to peaceful democratic elections. He says,"without a broad based popular constitution Zimbabwe will remain partisan with patronage being the order of the day". This he says, is the course of the current extra-legal and extrajudicial system. In September 2009, Dr Daniel Shumba resigned from opposition politics and rejoined Zanu-PF.

He is married and has two daughters and a son , Natsai, Judith and Simba. He educated in Zimbabwe and UK, holds an MBA and a PhD, he has businesses in IT, Hospitality, Mining and Telecommunications. Dr Daniel Shumba operates between Zimbabwe and South Africa. He is currently working on a pan African broadcasting project. Dr Daniel Shumba is a well known strategist and consults for business, and NGOs in Africa.

Dr Daniel Shumba is seen as a progressive who has gone past the political agenda, and is focussed at unlocking value as a businessman. "The risk of politics, brings out the opportunistic nature ot people. Let us not confuse democracy, capitalism with an ideological revolution. It is uneducated for one to continue running in a wrong direction, when common sense tell you to review your strategy. Besides, bitterness can not form the bases for an ideolgy, so i have chosen to cut my looses and economically contribute to our great nation. I see myself as wiser today, than i was yesterday."
