The DC Rollergirls are the only flat track roller derby
league in Washington, D.C. Historically, DC was home to the Washington, D.C. Jets, which played banked track derby until 1978. Roller derby has grown in popularity since 2003, largely due to the creation of the WFTDA. The DC Rollergirls play at the DC Armory.
Upon creation in 2006, the league had four teams, including the now folded Secretaries of Hate.
