 when players from each club would frequently swap sides with the neighbouring club.

Currow have won the East Kerry Championship on three occasions since their formation in 1911. The first time they won was in 1945 with the Shanahan brothers to the fore. They also won in 1992 and 1998. In 1996 the club won the East Kerry League title.
In 1982 the club won first of its County titles when they won the County Novice Championship with hard win over local neighbours Scartaglin. In 1988 the club won the second of their county titles when they won the Kerry Junior Football Championship
