Synopsis

Xia Jingyi, nicknamed Piglet, is a rookie cop with the Records Department of the Police Force and is constantly at loggerheads with her superior, Lü Daxiong. Daxiong was transferred from the Criminal Investigation Department five years ago after a bungle during a police chase that resulted in the death of his partner.

Despite their differences, the duo helps in the investigation and solving of several cases; from the mystery of a man who died after a brush with a ghostly apparition, to the death of a reporter who was trying to uncover a child smuggling ring.

Yu Jie is a pathologist whose brother is in a child smuggling ring. They were both kidnapped when they were young to become beggars. He vowed to take revenge but in the end starts the ring. Yu Jie is so distraught she starts taking drugs and mutilating herself. Unknown to her Daxiong is in love with her. He can never summon up the courage at the right time and place to tell her he loves her.

One day at her place, Daxiong finds drugs in her possession and accidentally sees the scars on her thigh. He confronts her one day. She denies it in rage and chases him out.

But the case that Daxiong badly wants to crack is that of the "Surgical Maniac", which he was investigating at the time of his ex-partner's death. Yijing and Daxiong are closing in on the killer when they discover the next victim is Daxiong's father.

During the last episode, Yu Jie is captured by the Surgical Maniac and cruelly killed. Surgical Maniac sends a video to Da Xiong, showing him brutally and slowly killing Yu Jie. Surgical Maniac reveals that he is really a woman. She used to be a nurse who managed to save a dying patient. Daxiong's father was her friend. The dying patient lives on two months in suffering before he dies. Surgical Maniac's superior is furious when he finds out that she is of two genders. He asks her to either choose whether she wants to be a male or female or quit. She is forced to quit despite Daxiong's father's pleas. Surgical Maniac misunderstands and thinks that Daxiong's father did not make an effort to retain her and holds a grudge. She finally decides to be a total man. After the change, she feels like she is living life over again and has an urge to kill. He says a mysterious line before her dies: "I am the ultimate victor." Yu Jie is his last victim before he jumps off a building.

Daxiong up loads the video link Blade gave him. He puts Yu Jie on the op table and shows him how he brutally slices open Yu Jie's abdomen and kills her in tortured pain. Daxiong is heartbroken. He slams the table and goes out. Piglet follows him and tells him this is what Blade wanted all along. If Daxiong stays this way he really is the true victor.

While solving the cases together, Daxiong's love for Yu jie starts to fade and he feels attracted to Jingyi. She also likes him and they have a secret love for each other. However Daxiong still feels loyal to Yu Jie and wants to be together with her. He wants both relationships to come to fruition.

Daxiong and Jingyi know they should be together but Daxiong cannot bring up his courage. In the end, they meet at the arcade and Daxiong indirectly admits it to Jingyi. He leaves with her and they start a new relationship.
