. The school caters for 800 students from Preschool (3 & 4 year old) to Year 12 Higher School Certificate. Established in 1978 the school is a member of Christian Education National (formerly Christian Parents Controlled Schools). The school is also a member of the Christian Schools Sporting Association (CSSA) and the Combined Independent Schools (CIS).

Students represent 120 churches with over 85% of students coming from active Christian families. Parent involvement is an important aspect of the school community through the Parents in Partnership program. All staff must be active Christians and suitably qualified for their roles.

The school has well established facilities, comprehensive sports program, extra-curricular activities, broad electives including Hospitality VET course.

History

The pioneers of Covenant Christian School wanted an education for their children which was clearly and explicitly Christian in perspective.
  • 1965 group of Christians began to discuss starting a Christian School
  • 1966 land bought at Ingleside for the purpose of establishing a school
  • 1970-73 various development applications refused by council
  • 1975 applied to Council to start in a demountable building
  • 1977 decision to start in a church hall while continuing to look for suitable location
  • May 1978 classes started at St Paul’s Anglican Church, Terrey Hills, with one teacher and 19 children from Kindergarten to Year 5
  • Sept 1978 purchased 212 Forest Way
  • 1979 Primary in Cottage at Forest Way and Infants in Church hall at Terry Hills
  • 1980 K-7 school all operating at Forest Way
  • 1983 first Year 10 School Certificates
  • 1986 first Year 12 HSC
  • 2007 first transition (preschool)

Vision

School logo

The School logo conveys a message. The Word of God is the basis upon which we develop the curriculum and life of our school. That is why it is central in our logo, represented by the cross of Christ, Jesus being the Word of Life, with the Bible as the horizontal bar, God’s written Word.
