Cheerleading

In 2010, Cosby's Competitive Cheerleading team won the school's first VHSL AAA State Championship. The Cosby Cheerleaders, in addition to winning the fourth straight Central VA SpiritFest competition in Charlottesville, won the "Triple Crown" in VHSL competition: Dominion District, Central Region, and State Championship. They were the first Dominion District team to make it to State Finals since 2008 and then the first Dominion District team to win a State Championship in Competitive Cheer; also, the first Central Region team to win a state championship in Competitive Cheer.

In 2011, Cosby's Competitive Cheerleading team won their second VHSL AAA State Championship. They were the third team to ever win the crown back to back. In addition, the team once again won the "Triple Crown." winning the Dominon District, Central Region, and State Championships.

Soccer

In 2011, Luis Rendon, Colombian native and a Junior at Cosby, was named the 2010-2011 Gatorade Player of the Year for Boy's Soccer, making him one of the first Juniors to win this award.

. Megan Moye was state champion in the girl's 3200m and 1600m run, in 10:37.81 and 4:55.37, respectively.

On March 11th, 2011, Megan Moye became Cosby's first All-American by placing 6th in the 2 mile run at the New Balance Indoor Nationals. Her time was 10:32.89.

On June 3rd, 2011, Megan Moye became the state champion in Outdoor Track in the 1600m run. She ran a 4:48.21, breaking the state meet record.

Cosby High School's performance of "Hard Candy" earned them the Dominion District Champion spot as well as Runner Up at Central Regionals.
Their performance of "Power Play" earned them the Dominion District Championship. Cosby high school marching band has received a superior rating of the years 2009-2011.

Traditions

Cosby High School features an annual competition every year entitled "Mr. Cosby" featuring several male seniors participating in a Miss America

Cosby High School is also notable for its weekly broadcast of, "TNN," the Titan News Network. It features students taking journalism interviewing various students and teachers around the school about different going-ons.

The School also features a fan organization called "Lightning Legion" that gathers a large group of students to go to every sports game to support their peers.

Health Science Specialty Center
