Playing career

Ţălnar was born in Bărăbanţ, Alba County

 and began playing for Dinamo Bucharest in the country's first division (Divizia A) in 1977. Ţălnar was capped 6 times in the Romanian national football team between 1979 and 1981.

Coaching career

After he retired, Ţălnar was the head coach, in Liga I
