The Cordillera Penibética mountain range
is the most southerly of the Baetic Cordillera
; it runs along the south coast of Andalusia
, from the province of Cádiz
, across the province of Almería
, into the Region of Murcia
. A little further north, across the intermountain basins known as the Hoya de Baza and the Hoja de Guadix, are the Cordillera Subbética
and the Cordillera Prebética.
The Intrabaetic Depression , a discontinuous series of valleys, separates the Cordillera Penibética from the Cordillera Subbética in the north.
